Requirements Modeling Books (from Karl Wiegers)

    Hey,

Here are some books that Wiegers references in his book Software Requirements (which I really like). I looked over them at amazon.com and really think some of them may be useful. If you've read any of these already, please let me know! Otherwise, I'll just post my review in here somewhere as I read them.

Essential System Requirements: A Practical Guide to Event-Driven Methods - Bill Wiley

User-Centered Requirements: The Scenario-Based Engineering Process - Karen L. McGraw, Karan Harbison

Complete Systems Analysis: The Workbook, the Textbook, the Answers - James Robertson, Suzanne Robertson

    Object-Oriented Design Measurement - Scott A. Whitmire

Advanced Use Case Modeling: Software Systems - Frank Armour, Granville Miller

Essential Systems Analysis - Stephen M. McMenamin, John F. Palmer

Structured Analysis and System Specification - Tom Demarco, P. J. Plauger

Business Rules Applied: Building Better Systems Using the Business Rules Approach - Barbara Von Halle

i went ahead and added links to Joe's list. I haven't read these books, but would be interested in hearing from someone who has read any of them.

Not a book, exactly, but the IIBA BABOK (Business Analyst Body of Knowledge) has some excellent discussion of requirements models.

I agree! Here is a link to v1.6 of the BABOK:

At the most recent IIBA meeting I attended (September), they told us v2.0 of the BABOK will be released in the near future.
