I caught a post this week that mentioned the launch of their new site. Same basic content, updated look:

Looks nice and sleek, but I wonder how easy it will be to use with the teeny-tiny font they've selected for everything except the JOIN/RENEW NOW links. Makes it pretty easy to understand what the guiding business objective is for the site, huh? :-)

not a huge fan of the new site... a bit cluttered IMHO. I suspect some ads will show up in the near future in the white space they left...

I've passed your feedback along to the site folks. We'll keep working on it.
As for the links, well, the old Paypal membership process was a pain for most people and we're trying to make sure that it's easier for people to sign up. While we are most certainly a non-profit, membership fees make up the vast majority of the IIBA's revenue and that revenue is what we need to be able to improve services to the membership, including enhancements to the BABOK, improvements to the certification process and updates to the CBAP exam, and other programs that we hope to be able to introduce in the near future.

I actually like them - something different than most sites out there.

And what's wrong with rainy days? Some of my best napping has taken place on rainy days!

That's the name of the windows deskstop color scheme I've been using since Windows 3.1.

A bit set in our ways, eh?

Well, it is one of the few schemes that has actually continued to exist. To my recollection "Hot Dog Stand (http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/000341.html)" was discontinued.
Check out the link, it's worth it.
Seriously, "happy" colors like Yellow make people psycho (http://freshome.com/2007/04/17/room-color-and-how-it-affects-your-mood/).

Or maybe only psycho people like happy colors like Yellow (not to be confused with Yello (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yello), which everybody loves).

So when you looked at the various schemes Windows offered, you stumbled upon Hot Dog and thought, "now that's a pleasing color scheme I'd like to look at every day!" :)
