Hi,

Anyone here have any experience with open source requirments tools? I've only recently become aware of a couple of different solutions, but haven't used them yet...

Open Source Requirements Management Tool 1.5

Tigris

JFeature

Useme

Are there others?

Hi M,

I am one of the authors of Useme, the last open source project you mention in your list.

I am not aware of any other open source tools out there, but I'll watch this thread with curiosity to see if anybody comes up with something else.

In the meantime, I want to thank you for mentioning us and for placing a link to our project's home page! :) Useme will be available for download soon, and we are planning to add further documentation and demos between now and release date.

If you or anybody else on this forum requires any further information, please feel free to contact us, we will only be too happy to hear from the requirements professionals community.

Cheerio,
Barbara

Barbara, I didn't find on your site anywhere to download the product. Is it available yet?

So, are the requirements documents for open source requirements tools out on the web somewhere?

I think it would be great to contribute at that level to one of these. They are supposed to be community efforts, right?

I downloaded and have been trying out OSRMT (mgoyal's first link in his list). So far it shows lots of potential, but is clunky and awkward. If someone continues to improve and upgrade this product it could be great, but for right now I think I will do just as well with Excel.

Hi DDelancey,

My thoughts echo your own. I find the products a bit clunky to use. I think that will change as features are implemented as the OSS community move on to more usability issues. we'll see...

Hi Goyal,

One more tool is available - Xuse. I didn't use the tool.

I am also in search of top 5 open source requirements management tools.

Thanks,
Swarupa
