A group of us are organizing ProductCampAustin, an informal "unconference" of product managers.

WHAT: ProductCampAustin
WHERE: St. Edwards University's Professional Education Center (PEC)
WHEN: June 14, 2008

So far, sponsors include Pragmatic Marketing (http://www.pragmaticmarketing.com), NetStreams (http://www.netstreams.com), AIPMM (http://www.aipmm.com), and AustinPMM Forum (http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/AustinPMMForum).

There are two ways you can get involved:

1. Go to the wiki (http://barcamp.org/ProductCampAustin) and sign up as a participant.
2. Join the planning group (http://groups.google.com/productcampaustin) on Google.

More details here (http://cauvin.blogspot.com/2008/05/productcampaustin.html).

sounds interesting. Do you know where these have been done elsewhere recently? (specifically around Product Management).

"The first ProductCamp, known as P-Camp, was held in Silicon Valley in March 2008."

Thanks Roger for the updates.

I mentioned in the blog post (http://requirements.seilevel.com/blog/2008/05/productcamp-austin-is-almost-here.html) that I cannot attend - though I wish I were here for it, I think it'll be really interesting and fun. Others I've talked to seem really excited, so please attend if you can!

And whoever does attend, please post comments, stories, insights, etc after.

How did it go? Does anyone have a review? Should I go next year?

I can't believe over 22,000 people viewed this thread and nobody has an impression of the event.

A survey of attendees after the event showed overwhelming satisfaction and a desire to do another ProductCamp in Austin.
